Almost every learner starts the same way — and stops in the same place.
Apps teach you a language
Ordering coffee in Cairo is a fine goal. It is not your goal. Nothing you learn is aimed at the page in front of you in ṣalāh.
Grammar comes first, meaning comes last
Two years of declensions before your first understood verse. Almost everybody quits in month three — not from difficulty, from lack of reward.
You cannot verify the teacher
Anonymous platforms, unnamed tutors, no chain, no qualification. In sacred knowledge, who you learn from is the first question, not the last.

One-to-One Recitation & Ijāzah
An ijāzah is not a certificate printed by a company. It is a teacher testifying that they heard your recitation in full, and that they themselves received it from a teacher — back through a chain to the Prophet ﷺ. It cannot be automated, and it cannot be bought. It is heard, corrected, and earned.

Every English-language "40 Hadith" course you will find teaches the translation. Questions
What exactly is free?
Nine lessons, permanently: the whole of Stage 0 — the 28 letters and every mark — plus the first lesson of Stage 1, where you understand a complete verse for the first time. It also includes the review trainer and the reading assessment. By the end you will read al-Fātiḥah from the muṣḥaf.
What is the founding price?
The Student plan is $39 a month. The first 50 students pay $29 a month and keep that rate for as long as they stay subscribed — even after the price rises. It is a thank-you to the people who join before there is anything to show them but my word.
I cannot read Arabic letters at all. Is this for me?
Yes — Stage 0 assumes nothing. It starts with the shape of a single letter and ends with you reading al-Fātiḥah from the muṣḥaf without transliteration. It is free.
How much time does this actually take?
Fifteen minutes a day. Lessons are seven minutes; review is eight. The course is built around people with jobs and families, not students with empty afternoons.
Is this Modern Standard Arabic or Qur'anic Arabic?
Qur'anic Arabic. The goal is the muṣḥaf and the Sunnah. You will find modern Arabic much easier afterwards, but it is not the target.
Can my wife or daughter study with a female teacher?
Yes. Sisters and girls are taught by a female teacher holding ijāzah in both Ḥafṣ and Shuʿbah, and are never placed with a male teacher. Brothers are taught by male teachers. Please state who the application is for when you apply.
Do you issue a real ijāzah?
Through the one-to-one recitation track only, by teachers who hold ijāzah with a connected sanad, and only after a complete recitation has been heard and corrected. No ijāzah is ever granted for finishing a video course — here or anywhere.
Do I have to finish a stage in a fixed time?
No. You move on by passing the stage assessment, not by the calendar. If Stage 2 takes you three months, it takes three months — at the same price.
